Nothing like trying to have a movie marathon again.
FYI - we failed and had to have a nap, lol.
So what's been going on this week for practice? Not a lot really, we went to the pool as usual on Wednesday but other than that I haven't done too much. I'm still rather overwhelmed with a lot of what else is going on in my life currently that I think I just need to finish getting my teeth looked after before I dig deep into practice again.
That doesn't mean I didn't have fun and still got in a good practice. I've gotten to 25 seconds under water for a breath hold now a few times, so that definitely getting better even if the growth is slower at the moment. And you know what? That's ok, I won't always be able to hit the ground running and I honestly do need to learn to be ok with that.
The biggest thing we did was have a movie marathon for some fun this weekend. My friend hadn't seen Lord of the Rings at all yet and I just had to fix that honestly, cause that's just offensive - I kid. Either way, it was fun, we chilled and watched the first two movies before having to have a nap, cause we're old and not teenagers anymore. We made some pasta for supper too, which was really good!
The next morning we finished watching the third movie - which, everyone, I would like to introduce you to Yoda's doppelganger, lol. At least according to my friend, when she first saw him that's what she said and I just had to laugh a bit. To her credit, you can't see his potato mash side of the head when you very first see him.

Once we were done watching Return of the King we played some card games and eventually went out for coffee before I went home. If you happen to be in the Vancouver area, you should check out Gigi Blin, that's were we decided to head to for coffee and a snack and honestly, so good! I got a cheese biscuit and their maple latte and it was one of the best latte's I've had in Vancouver! I mean, just look at it, it even looks yummy!

So with that in our bellies, I headed home again to relax and depress a bit, and to get yelled at by Salem, how dare I be out all night. Sorry, I should have known better, my liege. He's fine, after a night of cuddles he has forgiven me once again. That is where I currently am right now, just taking things a little slower for the time being while I get some of my medical issues dealt with.
I'm serious, I want everyone to know it's ok to go slow once in a while, heck, it's even ok to fall, stop completely or even regress a bit. Don't beat yourself up over it, it happens and that's ok. What's important is that you get up to try again once you've been able to regroup. The mark of your character isn't the amount of times you "fail" but rather how many times you continue to try. You got this, one breath at a time.
With that being said, I'll leave you as always with a card of encouragement and advice from my Mermaids.
"Lately you have had your share of ups and down. There have been many instances of confusion and times when you have felt pulled in several directions at once. External stressors have been wreaking havoc - everything from unpredictable weather to unstable relationships can have a big impact on your emotional outlook. Fear not, my friend, for it won't be long before your life and body regain their natural sense of harmony and balance. You may need to reevaluate the aspects of your life that are giving you the most trouble and try setting some appropriate boundaries. If someone is taking too much of your time and energy, it is all right to limit their presence and influence. look to the near future and breathe a deep sigh of relief. Once again you will feel calm, clear-headed, and motivated to live life to the fullest."
Wow, even the mermaids say it's ok to take a break and regroup! That's our lesson for the week, practice being ok with it.
